I’m currently working as a year-round Finance Intern with Union Pacific, where I get to apply what I’m learning in the classroom to real-world projects. My main focus is on helping prevent fraud by coordinating with vendors and banks to make sure Union Pacific pays the right people. Along the way, I’ve gained experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and I’ve had the chance to work alongside teams in Accounting, Treasury, and Planning & Analysis.This role has given me hands-on exposure to how a Fortune 500 finance department operates, strengthened my problem-solving and communication skills, and allowed me to collaborate with both peers and senior leaders on meaningful projects.
