About Patrick Galagan

My journey started at community college in Albuquerque, NM. Eventually I went to Ole Miss and studied accounting in college - received my undergraduate and graduate degrees, as well as passed my CPA while a student - and subsequently pursued this field after college. Over time, I transitioned into M&A / deal advisory work, as it was a bit more glamorous and personally, working as a industry accountant / GL accountant did not appeal to me. I pursued this through a few different employers, seeing different markets / industries, company size (Public to Family Run business), strategies, and teams. Excellent foundation to get me to where I am now. Eventually I had the realization that I am good at creating a productive and open team environment that fosters problem solving. I struggled to find this for years - I always knew there was something else that interested me but, I could not articulate this vision internally / consciously (or subconsciously) connect the dots on how to best utilize my strengths. Over a few anxious years I began to connect the pieces and realized that I enjoy working in a team with strong leaders, supporting well-intentioned individuals in their pursuits (however, I can), thinking strategically about operations and negotiations, solving problems, and just generally pride myself on getting things done and having a growth / continuous improvement mindset. This is what energizes me professionally. Always seeking out how I can be a better utility player. Outside of my professional self, I actively embrace what I term a holistic (mind, body, spirit) health and wellness approach to life and this is the #1 - without this I cannot do the other things so lots of decisions I make take this into consideration (e.g, top priority in my day-to-day). I never served in the military but find the strategy around military operations fascinating. I also am energized and find motivation and inspiration learning about the trials, determination, and triumphs of the human spirit in extremely difficult situations, consistent with those that military operatives face. Also, I am fascinated by space and US involvement and strategy. Lastly, I really enjoy finding time for peaceful reflection and working to become a better version of myself, which I am grateful I found my current employer as they embody this mindset and have helped me develop strategies to do this.
