Patrick Matlock is a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant General with over 35 years of experience leading complex organizations, advising senior leaders, and executing global operations. A West Point graduate, Patrick commanded units at every level—from platoon to division—and led troops in combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as strategic assignments across Europe, Korea, and the United States.In his most recent role as the Army’s Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3/5/7 at the Pentagon, Patrick oversaw global readiness, training, planning, and force development. He played a key role in Army-wide budgeting and programming, strategic planning, and interagency coordination. His work included advising the Army’s most senior leaders, developing modernization initiatives, and building strong relationships with congressional leaders and executive branch stakeholders to help shape defense policy and funding.Patrick holds advanced degrees in ethical philosophy and national security studies and is a graduate of several elite military education programs. He now serves as a strategic advisor, offering insight on leadership, organizational transformation, and national security strategy
