ABOUT PATRICK DONNELLY

I graduated with a B.A. degree in English Language and Film Studies in 2005 from the University of Wales, Bangor. Whilst at university I took an active part in the University Council providing an opportunity to build on my organisational and interpersonal skills. During this time I gained a reputation for assisting fellow students to resolve a variety of problems. In my current role working at Shop Direct I have worked on both the merchandising and buying teams, giving me a strong insight into both sides of retail, and a deeper understanding of the importance of product creation, a strong range selection and putting the right forecasts and buys in place to maximise sales. Working within an ecommerce business environment I have been involved in a great number of bespoke marketing campaigns, as well garnering an in-depth knowledge of reporting and analysis, producing sales and logistical reports for head of department and director level.In the eight years I have worked within Shop Direct I have many successes to be proud of, from managing the Ben Sherman website, to overseeing the Gaming and Imaging team with an annual turnover of £130 million, as well as many personal achievements including leading a project change initiative to save the company half a million pounds annually and giving approximately working hours back to the business per year by driving a system improvement, as well as landing key accounts to improve the businesses portfolio, and driving charity events within the business to benefit Alder Hey Hospital.Outside of work I have run my own freelance photography business, focusing on weddings and events, and have sold pictures at local charitable auction events, something which I am keen to continue doing as I believe strongly in giving back to my community.
