Rapid City Regional Airport (RAP) is the second-largest airport in South Dakota with approximately commercial passenger enplanements per year. RAP contributes an estimated $456 million in economic impact annually to the local economy.The airport\'s terminal is equipped with a range of amenities, including restaurants, retail shops, and car rental services, ensuring a comfortable and efficient travel experience for passengers. During my time at RAP, we have increased our reserve fund from $4.67M in 2015 to $25.7 in 2023, this is due in part to a new philosophy on concession management and implementation of parking management changes.In recent years, Rapid City Regional Airport has embarked on significant development projects to enhance its facilities and services. An ongoing multi-phase terminal expansion is part of a long-term plan to improve passenger experience and operational efficiency.
