The African American Voice in Classical Music!\" A native of Petersburg, Virginia, Mr. McCoy is a graduate of Virginia State University where he earned a Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance. In 2005, McCoy graduated from the Shenandoah Conservatory of Shenandoah University in Winchester with a Master of Music in Church Music. Currently, Mr. McCoy lives in the Metropolitan Washington, D. C. area, where he actively serves the music community as an advocate for emerging artists, as well as informing THE ENTIRE community of the full breadth of classical music and its important. Most recently, he the performing arts columnist with Washington Life Magazine for four years.
