ABOUT PATRICK CHAMBERS

Hello! I am Patrick Chambers, a student studying Public Relations in the Newhouse School of Public Communication at Syracuse University. In addition, I will earn a major in History upon graduation in May of 2025. On campus, I have occupied a variety of roles throughout campus that have helped to shape my incredible 4 years at SU. I am General Manager & President of WJPZ, also known as Z89, America’s first student owned and operated FM College Radio Station. As GM, I have had the privilege to lead the greatest media classroom and work to develop WJPZ as a force among on campus media networks. In addition, throughout my time at WJPZ, I have served as the Music Director, co-created Sunday Spotlight (an evening broadcast that highlights and interviews musicians) and lead hosted our weekly new release show, New Music Monday. I am also the Cinemas Director for University Union. University Union is the official programming board of Syracuse University. As Cinemas Director, I have planned, booked and executed weekly first run cinema screenings on campus. Furthermore, as a part of UU, I have experience with the operation of our bi annual concerts held on campus. From August 2022 to December 2023, I served as a resident advisor. First, leading 55 freshmen students living in Day Hall and then leading 55 sophomore and junior students at Watson Hall. Through this experience, I developed strong crisis management, leadership and problem solving skills. I am a member of Zeta Phi Eta, a professional fraternity for communications students and the club Ski team. Finally, I have over six years of retail and sales experience, beginning with working at Party Fair of Ramsey in New Jersey while in high school and continuing with Bert’s Bikes and Fitness in Syracuse. I am currently looking for internship and full time job opportunities upon my graduation in May 2025.
