ABOUT PATRICK BARRY P. ENG

I am a Professional Engineer with experience dating back to 2012 while pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering degree in the field of Ocean and Naval Architectural Engineering. I am currently operating the role of Senior Naval Architectural Engineer with Adaptive Marine Solutions Inc.(https://ams-ink.ca/). AMS is an organization with diversified offerings that sets itself apart by adapting to clients’ needs by understanding client problems, maintaining a broad resource base, and promoting a positive team culture. Irving Shipbuilding Inc.(ISI) had previous employed (\'16-\'24) me to work in support of the construction of Canada’s Arctic Offshore Patrol Ships (AOPS). My time with ISI provided the opportunity to gain experience and grow in a fast-paced engineering environment. Especially when holding the position of AOPS Field Services Engineering Lead as of February 2023. In this role, I managed a team that was able to achieve a goal of zero engineering deficiencies at the delivery of the 4th vessel in the AOPS class. This was a first for the AOPS program and a success for the entire ISI Engineering department. As a Project Engineer, I had the opportunity to travel overseas and assist with the integration of a new design agent into the AOPS program. This experience benefitted me both personally and professionally as I was able to recognize my strengths in communication, leadership, risk management, time management, technical writing, reporting, and presenting. My experiences as an Engineering Lead, Project Engineer, combined with my time in Production Engineering has allowed me to develop a blend of engineering and managerial skills that are essential in progressing my career as a Professional Engineer. I hold significant importance in mentoring young engineers and contributing to the growth of my organization and its employees.
