About Patrick Ahern
A senior corporate finance executive with 20+ years of in-depth experience serving companies in various industries. Effectively managed teams and collaborated with colleagues in these roles to achieve operational excellence, drive business value and advance the corporate mission. Ownership of key financial functions including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, variance analysis and accounting operations.Business challenges lead to growth and opportunity. While leading financial operations at RealPage, our company had outgrown our existing financial software. I led the research analysis process to identify potential new vendors and executed the due diligence to make a recommendation on the best solution. I oversaw the new financial software implementation and rollout to the organization. When I joined Northwestern Mutual Chicago as the CFO, I began supervising a very experienced accounting team. Within four months, the team left the company. I hired and oversaw the training of a new team while also learning the details of the business myself as a new hire. Throughout this time, I was successful in executing the financial responsibilities for the company.On a personal level, you can find me spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy outdoor activities with my wife and golfing with our sons. Caddying has been a big part of our family as our four boys and I have all caddied. I was an Evans Scholar at the University of Illinois and continue to support this great program. Giving back to our community is also important to me. I volunteer to support a homeless transition program, serve as a board member for the UCP Seguin of Greater Chicago Foundation and coach our son’s sports teams. Sporting events with family and friends, especially college football, have provided wonderful lifetime memories!
