First Base Employment is a recruitment business operating UK wide. Since 1997 we have placed over people into employment with some of the most regions most prestigious businesses. We recruit for temporary, permanent, temp to perm and interim vacancies (ask me what the pros and cons for each are). In the main we deal in the following areas although we are very good at going the extra mile to find most skill sets; Engineering, Production, Finance, Sales, Administration, Management, Marketing, HR, Manufacturing, Assembly, Warehouse, IT, Driving and Design.When I founded the business in 1997 my vision was to create an organisation where people were truly respected. We work closely together to ensure continuous improvement and still work to the same principles fashioned at the outset.Being fascinated by the development of people I get to have a real impact on peoples lives, their potential and their growth.I still enjoy the hands on stuff although nowadays I spend much of my time connecting with interesting people, building the First Base Brand and working with my team to allow them the confidence and skill set to excel at what they do.

My early career centered around personnel and development (my first job being gained through communication with the human resources team at the age of 14). I trained as a Commercial Apprentice prior to joining the recruitment team where I became involved in managing the YTS trainees (of which I had been one), appraisals and union representation. I went on to become PA to one of the Counties leading entrepreneurs before gaining employment as a recruiter. As a recruiter, I fell in love with the industry and the opportunity to impact people\'s lives. I was disappointed, however, by the way in which people were treated in the sector. When I founded First Base Employment in 1997, I put together a set of values around integrity, ethical business and delivering exceptional service that still guide my team and I today. I am really proud of the role we play in supporting individuals with their career choices and in helping employers to achieve their business goals by finding and retaining the right people.Whilst still enjoying the buzz of matching the best talent with the right employer, what really excites me today is growing the business and developing the First Base team. A lifelong believer in personal development, I love to see individuals achieve their full potential and able to make a positive contribution to their community. Investing in young people has always been a keen interest of mine and I work with charities, schools, colleges, universities and job centres to support those who may just need a bit of encouragement.
