   CommonWealth Kitchen (\"CWK\") is on a mission to close Greater Boston\'s growing wealth divide by breaking down the barriers for low­income women, immigrants, and people of color to create viable food companies as a means to generate assets and wealth, create jobs with few barriers to entry, and build an inclusive urban food manufacturing network. To accomplish this work, CWK operates Boston\'s only non­profit food business incubator and food manufacturing social enterprise. On average, CWK\'s commercial kitchen is home to 50+ wholesale and retail food companies, over 70% of which are owned by women and/or people of color, employing more than 130 individuals in one of Boston\'s lowest income neighborhoods. Also, CWK operates a food manufacturing social enterprise, which provides contract processing services to incubator member businesses to help them efficiently scale, and to a wide range of restaurants, farms, retailers, and institutions to generate revenue to support operations.
