When Rexel recruited me to launch their presence in Mexico, I saw both a challenge and an opportunity. I had previously opened the market for a company in the electronic sector, but this role brought new complexity: transitioning into the electrical industry, representing a brand with no recognition in Mexico, and guiding a U.S-based company through the high-stakes maquiladora landscape. I hit the ground running—driving into Juárez, walking industrial parks, handing out flyers, and knocking on doors to build partnerships from scratch. Unlike my previous role, this position required me to establish a completely new network in a different sector where neither I nor my company had name recognition. My mission was to build Rexel’s presence from the ground up—managing quoting, pricing, account setup, compliance, and credit terms, while also helping the company navigate Mexico’s business culture. I became more than a salesperson—I became a cultural and operational translator. Secured $2M+ Key AccountClosed a high-volume customer generating over $2 million in revenue in just two years—an anchor account that helped establish Rexel’s reputation and presence in the region. Built Territory from Zero & Adapted to New IndustryLaunched a brand-new sales territory in Mexico with no name recognition, growing it from cold leads to trusted relationships and distributor status. Successfully transitioned to new sector—quickly mastering complex product lines and customer needs through targeted training and adaptability.
