ABOUT PATRICE P. JEAN

I am an intellectual property attorney with over a decade of experience counseling leading and start-up pharmaceutical, chemical, and biotechnology companies in areas of intellectual property law. In particular, I am adept at asserting and defending the patent rights underlying the core technologies and innovations of leading hi-tech and pharmaceutical companies, so as to protect and/or improve their access to multi-billion dollar markets. I also defend clients against damages claims asserted by competitors. As a patent prosecutor, I have knowledge of the patenting process which strengthens my litigation abilities. My former experience as a research scientist informs my ability to advocate strongly for my clients as both a prosecutor and litigator. It positions me to not only understand the complex science behind my clients’ innovations but also the broader market implications of such technologies. I employ my scientific background and my grasp of client expectations to address the intellectual property challenges faced by my clients and to produce results that support their overall business objectives of remaining a leader in their respective fields.I was a 2014 Fellow of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity, an organization of corporate chief legal officers and managing partners devoted to improving diversity in the legal profession.
