About Aditi Patel
I am a first-year J.D. candidate at Emory University, School of Law, building on a strong foundation in Chemical and Biomedical Engineering to pursue a career in Intellectual Property. My technical background spans biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices, fields where innovation and law intersect most dynamically. Before attending law school, I earned my M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University, with a concentration in Biotechnology and Biopharmaceuticals, and my B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, with minors in Biophysics/Biochemistry and Public Health, and concentrations in Medical Devices and Biomaterials. My research experience includes projects under the American Chemical Society and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, focusing on drug delivery systems, biomaterials, and the development of medical devices.Professionally, I worked in Drug Product Development at Moderna, Inc, gaining firsthand experience with lipid nanoparticle formulation and large-scale biopharmaceutical production. Furthermore, I am currently interning at Sandia National Laboratories in Intellectual Property and Licensing, where I draft license agreements and IP management plans. This experience has solidified my interest in patent strategy and technology commercialization.Looking ahead, I aim to play a key role in shaping the future of innovation by guiding the protection of groundbreaking discoveries in biotechnology and the life sciences through intellectual property law.
