I have been a full-time instructor in Professional Writing and Communications Skills forUnited Nations staff and diplomats of Permanent Missions since 1992. I have developed and taught courses in Report Writing, Correspondence Writing, and Presentation Skills for the UN community in New York and in UN Offices away from Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Arusha, Entebbe, Kigali, Monrovia, Nairobi, and Port-au-Prince.I have developed Report Writing training materials for UN Dept of Peacekeeping and other deptsI am the creator of the online course,\"Action through Words: Learning English and learning about the United Nations\", plus the author of two textbooks,\"Innovations and Innovators (ABC News-ESL Video Library)\" and \"Variations: Reading/Oral Communications Skills for Beginning ESL Students\"In addition, I have undertaken studies of non-standard ways of coding language and other information (\"internal information maps\") in researching and writing my book,\"Blue Cats and Chartreuse Kittens: How Synesthetes color their worlds\"(Henry Holt & Company 2001), plus article \"Personal Coding: the Varieties of Linguistic Experience\"(Folio, UK journal, 2005/2006); I contributed a chapter,\"Synesthesia and Literature\" to the \"Oxford Handbook of Synesthesia\"
