Natel Energy unlocks stranded hydro resources with patented FishSafe™ turbine designs that fit directly into existing civil works across Francis, Kaplan, and propeller configurations. Across North America and Europe, aging hydro fleets face a modernization and relicensing crisis: conventional compliance methods cut annual generation by up to 14% and erode asset value, leaving clean, dispatchable capacity stranded in infrastructure that already exists.

The environmental case is equally urgent. Monitored freshwater fish populations have declined 85% since 1970, with river fragmentation from hydropower infrastructure among the primary drivers (WWF, 2024). FishSafe™ turbines achieve 98-100% through-turbine fish passage survival; demonstrated across multiple species including American eel, white sturgeon, rainbow trout, and juvenile alewife in peer-reviewed science; restoring the downstream migration corridors that fish, ecosystems, and the communities that depend on them require.
