ABOUT PASQUALE SOLDANO

My main area of expertise concerns system-on-chip (SoC) and micro-processor (CPU) design and verification. I\'ve been working for three years in Apple as SoC Verification Engineer and, before, I worked three years in Arm as CPU Verification Engineer, mainly focusing at generating stressing stimulus and finding issues in RTL designs. In the same time, I\'ve always been interested by CPU micro-architectures and my good knowledge of the design I\'m testing allows me to easily know how to improve the stress, how to hit corner cases and where to find bugs.My technical background is quite wide, it includes knowledge and skills in both computer science and electronics. As a verification engineer, I mainly use high-level, object oriented programming languages such as C++ and Python, on which I have become quite expert. I also know and use SystemVerilog for some tasks. On the other hand, I mostly studied electronics and digital hardware at university, attending courses and completing projects concerning RTL design, logic synthesis and physical design. I started my career in Arm with a six-month internship during which I modified the RTL design of an existing Cortex-A CPU for a performance investigation.Great passion and strong commitment allowed me to complete my studies in time and with full marks, as well as to brilliantly start my engineering career. Self-development and improvement are among my priorities and I enjoy working on challenging projects, either individually or in a team. My work style is accurate and precise, I use to integrate knowledge and analysis with intuition and creativity in problem-solving activities.
