ABOUT PASQUALE DONADIO
Pasquale Donadio is the Head of the Telecommunication Division at Comesvil SpA. He holds several roles, including Technical Director, Team Coordinator, and Project Manager. He earned his degree in Computer Science Engineering from the University of Napoli Federico II. Pasquale began his career at Industria Politecnica Meridionale before joining Alcatel-Lucent, where he held various positions in optical networks R&D. He later managed international research programs on transport networks funded by the European Commission, including ePhoton, OneLAB, GEYSERS, ETICS, ECONET, and Fi-Ware, and, in recent years, the flagship project FastTracks. Currently, he is the technical lead and manager of several mission-critical telecommunications projects: • GSM-R projects supporting ERTMS for high-speed railway systems • Data Communication System projects supporting CBTC for subway systems In addition, he is the coordinator of the FRMCS LAB project, funded by the Italian Ministry of Research and Innovation, developed in collaboration with the University of Naples Federico II. The project aims to establish the first open European laboratory for the integration of network technologies to support the development of the Future Railway Mobile Communication System (FRMCS). His research interests include FRMCS/5G, the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Network Function Virtualization (NFV), Cloud Computing, Software Defined Radio (SDR), Software Defined Networking (SDN), Energy-Aware Networks, Network Management, Optical Networks, MPLS-TP, and DWDM. A Senior Member of he is the author/co-author of 33 active patents and 30 research papers. He also serves as an expert evaluator and a member of the Expert Group on the EU Rail Supply Industry for the European Commission.
