WORK HISTORY
Youtuber Video-journalist @YouTube
Toronto, ON, CA
Filming and publishing videos on two YouTube channels for the promotion of my work and the monetization of the footage on an ad-based revenue model. The duties include field recording, cutting the footage and create simple but regular video posts as a hybrid solution to news reporting, entertainment, biodiversity and conservation and to offer emergency personnel enthusiasts around the world a medium for watching and sharing comments about their profession. Leads on a variety of subjects available to film are found through my network of colleagues and tools helping me to provide scene footage for the YouTube channel and to distribute to local and international news networks, among others the CBC, CTV, Global, BBC, SKY and CNN.Nature Channel: youtube.com/the4kguyNews Channel: youtube.com/pascalmarch

ABOUT PASCAL MARCHAND
Founder of The 4K Guy. Award-winning video journalist and documentary producer with footage used in film, television, and global media, including Godzilla vs. Kong, Spectre (James Bond), Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Sicario: Day of the Soldado, The First Purge, Resident Evil 2, and Call of Duty: Black Ops I capture and curate a large-scale archive of real-world audio-visual recordings, filmed in uncontrolled environments where signal, motion, and visibility naturally degrade. The dataset includes over 200TB of 4K and 8K material, representing thousands of hours of continuous real-world capture across dense urban environments, weather systems, emergency events, and large-scale dynamic scenes. A key property of the archive is how it is captured. Events are frequently recorded across multiple passes and viewpoints, varying angle, distance, focal length, and camera motion while remaining within the same real-world scenario. This produces correlated multi-perspective sequences of the same event, where signal, motion, and visibility can be compared across viewpoints while preserving temporal continuity and physical consistency. The material captures real-world conditions that are difficult to simulate or reproduce in controlled datasets, including crowds, smoke, fire, low-light environments, atmospheric changes, and complex motion. As a result, it is used to evaluate, stress-test, and improve systems across multiple domains- AI and multimodal systems, perception, reasoning, world models - Imaging and sensor systems, signal degradation, edge-case capture - Codec and compression systems, temporal consistency, artifacts, efficiency - XR and simulation environments, realism gaps, environment behavior - Game development and worldbuilding, lighting, atmosphere, scene coherence - Creative and film production, reference for real-world behavior and events - Legal and forensic analysis, real-world evidence patterns, incident reconstruction All material is fully owned, with clear and unrestricted IP rights, enabling direct licensing across technical, commercial, and creative applications. Targeted subsets are available based on specific technical or creative use cases.
