ABOUT PASCAL BUTEL
32 years of experience in digital domain, working for world class companies, leaders in their market. I am a change facilitator driving the transformation of people, organisation and processes. Strong management skills built over the years, on the basis of a solid technical and project management experience. I began my career at Sagem, where I spent 5 years and held several positions, starting as Software Engineer, developing Air Force Cartography systems requiring a high level of performance and reliability. I joined Canal+ which was launching the first European Digital TV Set Top Box. In this new emerging industry, it has been a succession of « firsts »: First games, Java Set Top Box, Digital recorder, MHP platform, many services developed and deployed on TV Operators platforms, … Many successfull projects, embedding new technologies, technical challenges requesting huge investment, rigourous organisation and strong leadership. Acquisition by NDS raised us on the International stage. During these 10 years, I mostly acted as manager, leading and building high performing teams. From a few dozen, we grew to around 400 plus an extended team based in India. While delivering projects, I recruited many engineers and managers, helped some of them grow to become very talented leaders. I joined the Executive Board during this period. One important part of my journey has been the integration within Cisco and the lead of the transformation. Along with the organisational/process shift, this integration implied a deep Product/cultural transformation. Moving from a Services mindset to a Product one, in the context of a Cloud transition. As Operations Director, I’ve been one of the key actors of our Agile transformation and teams’ re-engagement plan. To face news challenges, I joined the Thales Ground Transportation Business Unit to discover a new and amazing domain in a deep digital transformation, where I can bring my experience of transformation and management skills.
