In a matrix organization structure where a Global Seafreight Controller operates between Operations and Finance, he becomes crucial in ensuring seamless coordination and alignment between these two key functions. Analyzing operational as well as financial information to identify trends, evaluate KPIs, and recommend strategic improvements. Coordinate with other departments, including sales, operations, and finance, to support business objectives across all countries while balancing the interests of the Seafreight organization and Finance.A major program which was supported from inception to its maturity has been the Hapag Lloyd Quality Freight Product block space agreement. With a financial commitment of 0,6 billion USD over 3 years this unprecedented program was properly financially simulated, presented and approved by the management board. During the course of the program, it required constant coordination across all 21 participating countries with the finance, operations and trade lane teams. Regular quarterly reporting to the management board showed the positive financial impact of the program resulting in estimated Gross Profit of 140m USD during the 3-year program.
