Parvesh Sharma is currently a Formulation Chemist, Team Lead at BASF, Professional & Specialty Solutions. He has experience in research and development of formulations in ag and public health. Complete list of publications and patents in available on google scholar (https://scholar.google.com/citations?hl=en & & view_op=list_works & sortby=pubdate)Parvesh was a Sr. Formulations Scientist at Valent BioSciences LLC - where he developed ag formulations of Plant Growth Regulators, Biostimulants, Insecticides, etc. Prior to that Research Scientist at the Center for Particulate and Surfactant Systems (CPaSS), a National Science Foundation Industry/Univ Cooperative Research Center at the University of Florida (UF). He specializes in engineering and characterization of materials for targeted, value added applications aimed at solving critical problems in agriculture and healthcare. He has been awarded patent for use of nanoparticles in bio-imaging and has six applications are pending in areas of crop protection, nano-manufacturing and healthcare. His research accomplishments have been published by leading journals throughout the US.Parvesh worked in areas of agrochemical and pesticide formulations, nano-medicine, colloids, interface science, bio-imaging contrast agents, formulation science, and crop protection. He has experience in design, synthesis and characterization of bio-compatible materials including polymers, ceramics, metal nanoparticles, composites, quantum dots, liposomes; surface modification of clays; encapsulation (dyes, proteins, drugs) and controlled release systems; and surfactant formulations. He has researched in the use of clay particulates for crop protection, delivery of antimicrobial actives to diseased plants impacted by Citrus Greening disease and integrating imaging with drug delivery for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Recognizing the importance of teamwork he has collaborated with his peers and experts in multiple departments at UF and other institutions.Parvesh received his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Chemistry from St. Stephen’s College, which has consistently been ranked as the best undergraduate college for Science in India. He received PhD in Chemistry from the University of Delhi where he investigated complexation equilibria of pyrimidinetrione derivatives with metal ions. He served on the faculty of St. Stephen’s College before joining the Particle Engineering Research Center at UF.
