About Partha Pratim Ray

I am Partha Pratim Ray, Assistant Professor (Senior Scale) in the Department of Computer Applications at Sikkim University, with over 13 years of academic and research experience. My work sits at the intersection of Generative AI, Edge Computing, Internet of Things (IoT), and Pervasive Biomedical Informatics, and focuses on designing impactful, resource-efficient solutions for real-world systems.My academic contributions span 123 SCI-indexed journal publications, multiple Scopus and conference papers, 8 published books, and several book chapters across Elsevier, Springer, and Taylor & Francis. I am honored to be consistently listed in the World’s Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University (2020–2025), and to receive recognitions such as the IEI Young Engineers Award, Emerald Literati Award, Best Paper Awards, and the Sikkim University Publication Award.I currently serve as an Associate Editor for Frontiers in Bioinformatics and actively participate in global research communities through memberships in (Senior Member), IETE (Fellow), ACM, IET, and IEI, among others. My research has contributed extensively to domains such as radiology, oncology, surgery, digital health, smart agriculture, and cyber-physical systems, often using AI and LLMs as transformative enablers.My ongoing PhD focuses on “Enabling Large Language Models on Resource-Constrained Edge Devices”, where I explore localized LLM inferencing, scheduling, edge–cloud orchestration, and real-time IoT integration.
