Parosha is a multi-award winning human rights barrister & the only trafficking victims’ lawyer to have succeeded in obtaining 3 unanimous landmark judgments of the European Court of Human Rights, against 3 different governments (2021-24). She is a legal expert for the UN & the Council of Europe and is recognised as one of the world\'s leading anti-slavery lawyers. With a rare multi-disciplinary domestic and international legal practice spanning 28 years, she has brought test cases in the courts to set trafficking precedents to protect victims’ rights worldwide.She was honoured with the TIP Hero Award 2015 for developing the rule of law on trafficking in the UK & abroad and her “unparalleled legal representation of victims of modern slavery”.She was consulted by NGOs & House of Lords & Commons peers for expert legal advice on every major (20••••15) trafficking, slavery & exploitation bill to emanate from the Parliaments of England & Wales, Scotland & N. Ireland. She is the author of 2 books, co-author of the Council of Europe’s comprehensive e-learning course on Combating Human Trafficking (2017; 2024) & has contributed extensively to key legal UK & international publications, 20••••25. She is a member of the expert working group of the Interparliamentary Taskforce on Human Trafficking. She advises & provides legal training to judges, parliamentarians, States, prosecutors, police, lawyers & NGOs in the UK & abroad. She is Professor of Practice in Modern Slavery Law at King’s College London where she teaches her own LLM course. She has extensive expertise in recognising legal loopholes & drafting legislation, e.g. the UK’s slavery and forced labour criminal offence s71 Coroners and Justice Act 2009, which became s1 Modern Slavery Act 2015. She drafted a Model Law against Orphanage Trafficking (Lumos, 2022) which was influential to the International Parliamentary Union (182 Parliaments) in passing its landmark resolution against OT in Oct 2023.
