How do you build the best homes on the planet? This question has led me to put together an in-house team of architects and designers who have done some revolutionary work on two projects - Marathon Nexworld and Next School. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, I'll let them do the talking.

I was always insanely frustrated as a student. My rage against the system got its voice in the form of the attached '6 Problems' video that I wrote and directed myself. There had to be a better way. It took me 6 years of research and globe-trotting to find one. Its called Big Picture Learning. NEXT is India's first Big Picture Learning school. I lead an in-house design team to design and construct the school building. We do everything from the structural design to the interiors. I lead an in-house marketing team to do all the communication. We make everything ourselves - the logo, the brochure, the website, the animated movie, even the diaries, id cards, etc. On the educational front, I'm heavily involved in recruiting our teachers. I personally work with the oldest group of kids once a week. I run a couple of fortnightly professional development workshops where we constantly innovate, iterate and prototype new ideas. And of course, as the CEO, I handle the operations, finance and business side of the organisation (borrrrinng). NEXT takes up around 30-40% of my work life.

Operations - Led a team of 6 employees. Responsible for performance management, payroll, welfare, events. Managed recruitment of 150 people. Organization Transformation Project (with Hay Group) - Conducted series of visioning workshops to clarify organization’s vision, mission and values - Designed and implemented year long campaigns communicating the vision, mission and values - Led and monitored 5 cross-functional teams that addressed the key issues that had been diagnosed - Implemented performance management system - developed performance metrics for top 350 employees - Implemented structuring module - identified gaps and overlaps in organization structure, created job descriptions for and evaluated each unique role - Introduced and implemented various other processes - competency framework, talent management process, development centers, manpower planning, HR Policy, coaching and mentoring programs, induction program Leadership development program: led conceptualization and design with Hay Group, designed projects, initiated program for senior management

Worked 15-20 hours / week on campus at Yale. Responsibilities included basic coding, sourcing and organizing collateral content (slides, assignments, diagrams, etc), quality assurance.
