Selected as a 2025–2026 Social Justice Fellow in Spelman College’s competitive Social Justice Fellows Program, supported by the Gilead Foundation. My fellowship centers on the Health Advocacy Initiative, where I lead efforts to educate and mobilize students around healthcare policy and access in Georgia.Designed and implemented the initiative’s theme, Healthcare is Justice, to connect systemic inequities in healthcare with collective advocacy.Planning and facilitating campus-wide events, including a Medical Apartheid book discussion, a Health Policy 101 Panel, and a breakdown of the “One Big Beautiful Bill” (H.R. 1), linking legislation to health equity.Partnering with organizations such as the Georgia Budget & Policy Institute, Cover Georgia, and Spelman student organizations to bring policy experts, advocates, and legislators into dialogue with students.Equipping peers with actionable advocacy skills such as letter writing, legislative tracking, and coalition-building, and ensuring every event ends with clear next steps, motivation, and the feeling that they have power and influence over \"what happens next.\"Advancing Spelman’s role as a powerful voice in Georgia’s health justice movement by emphasizing collectivism, persistence, and systemic change.
