Cougar Capital is BYU’s evergreen, student-run venture fund with $6M+ AUM and a track record that benchmarks against top-quartile VC performance. The fund invests in real deals from Seed through Series C, giving a small team full responsibility for sourcing, diligence, and investment decisions.As Director of Finance, I owned the fund’s financial function end-to-end—including financial due diligence, modeling, fund economics, and portfolio analysis. I led diligence on companies and VC funds, built decision models for investment committee, and executed transactions across multiple rounds and sectors. During my time at the fund, Cougar Capital completed 10 investments totaling 500k in investment.This role mirrors the responsibilities of a finance leader inside a growth-stage company. I gained hands-on experience evaluating fundraising strategies, understanding how VCs underwrite deals, and assessing what enables (or limits) scalability. Combined with my background as an outsourced CFO, this experience strengthens my ability to help founders navigate VC rounds, build credible financial systems, and scale their businesses with discipline.

I\'m a Certified Managerial Accountant (CMA) and an MBA Candidate specializing in Finance at the BYU – Marriott School of Business. With a strong foundation in accounting and financial management and analysis, I I have accepted a full-time role with Proctor & Gamble upon the conclusion of my MBA in April 2026.In my previous role at Eide Bailly, I gained valuable experience in full-cycle accounting services, project management, and process improvement. I led teams in Accounting and Finance system implementation engagements and developed a department-wide staff scheduling tool that resulted in significant cost savings. As an MBA candidate, I am further honing my skills in financial planning and analysis (FP & A) and financial management, as well as gaining experience in the VC/PE space and gaining skills in business fundraising. I am seeking opportunities in these areas where I can bring my skills and experiences with technology, analysis, and business acumen drive business growth and success.Proficient in a range of software including Excel, Power BI, NetSuite, and how AI can efficiently be using in the Fiance space, I am ready to make a significant contribution in a dynamic and challenging role.
