ABOUT PARISA M. SHAMSABADI
In 2017, I earned my Bachelor\'s degree in Electrical Engineering from Amirkabir University in Tehran, Iran. Shortly after, I joined the McMaster Automotive Resource Center (MARC) in September 2017 and completed my Master\'s degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2019, with a focus on Electric Propulsion Systems for Extremely Short Takeoff and Landing airplanes. I have a strong background in robotics, control systems, and electric motors. My most recent role was at General Motors, where I worked as a software developer on the Lateral Control & Vehicle Motion Estimation team. During my time there, I played a key role in developing and testing advanced ADAS technologies, including Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keep Assist (LKA), and SuperCruise (SC). My hands-on experience in creating production software, validating systems, and collaborating closely with program and product teams to define requirements for both hands-on and hands-off driving systems has equipped me with the expertise to make meaningful contributions to the field. I am deeply passionate about the future of autonomous vehicles and remain dedicated to making that future a reality.
