ABOUT PARISA HAJI

Dr. Parisa Haji, Ph.D, P.Eng. is the CEO and Co-Founder of Matrix GEMINI, and a seasoned civil engineer, inventor, and entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in the design and construction of buried structures, including culverts, highway underpasses, and cut-and-cover bridges. Since 2011, she has served as a committee member of the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code under the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). Parisa has led major structural and geotechnical health monitoring projects for Canadian National and Pacific Railways, as well as several passenger and industrial rail lines across Canada. She has also chaired the Organizing & Technical Committee for both the 1st and 2nd Inaugural Canadian & Cold Regions Rail Research Conference, bringing together industry, academia, and government to advance rail infrastructure in challenging climates. Expanding her expertise beyond Earth, she is currently leading the design of a Lunar base in support of the Canadian Space Agency’s collaboration with NASA\'s Artemis mission. At Matrix GEMINI, she pioneers modular infrastructure solutions by integrating geocomposite materials, 3D printing, and robotic construction to develop sustainable, scalable structures for remote communities and extreme environments—on Earth and the Moon. Parisa also holds a Certificate in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from the University of Alberta’s School of Business and completed studies in Space Studies at the International Space University. She serves on the Board of Directors of TiE Women, a not-for-profit angel investor forum with a mission to fund and foster Canadian women entrepreneurs. Deeply committed to early education and STEM outreach, she volunteers at schools, APEGA Science Olympics, and regularly organizes STEAM activities for children in the community. Her philanthropic work includes contributing to the solar panels installation project in remote communities in the Philippines and, most recently, running a half marathon to raise funds for CASA Mental Health. A proud mother of two, Parisa brings her passion for engineering, space, and education together in every aspect of her professional and personal life.
