David Parham

About David Parham

I am a Partner in the Bankruptcy Practice Group in the Dallas office of Akerman LLP. I have represented debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, landlords and other contract counter-parties, franchisors, official and ad hoc creditor and equity committees and parties seeking to acquire distressed assets. I have also represented parties in bankruptcy related litigation including preference and fraudulent conveyance actions, directors and officer breach of fiduciary duty cases and cases involving state law claims. Over my 40 year career I have represented parties in cases involving many different industries, including restaurant, retail, aviation, agriculture, energy, manufacturing, shipping, telecommunications and real estate. Significant debtor side representations include representations of Pilgrim\'s Pride Corporation, Buffets (a restaurant group that then had over 300 restaurants) and Express One International, an airline which had charter passenger and freight operations. In my spare time, I am an avid fan of the Oklahoma Sooners, the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers.
