ABOUT PARAMESH KRISHNAMOORTHY
I am a CFA, MBA, FRM and Chartered Accountant working with 1832 Asset Management LP. In 2020, I completed my MBA from McGill University, Montreal. I am passionate about learning how different businesses work, understanding revenue models and analyzing a company\'s secret sauce for success. While working as a tax consultant in my previous role at KPMG, besides providing tax consultancy to my clients, I was fortunate to be involved in several restructuring transactions. I was exposed to various facets of an M&A (mergers and acquisition) deal, right from deciding the holding structure of a company, to its valuation, due-diligence, and closure of deal. This piqued my interest towards understanding businesses and the thought process behind their strategies. Fast forward to 2019: As part of my MBA internship, I was fortunate to work as an equity analyst for one of the best corporate pension funds in Canada. I had an opportunity to practically apply my academic knowledge to work and analyze companies from the tech sector. Currently I am working as a Portfolio Analyst with 1832 Asset Management LP (fully owned affiliate of Scotiabank) and covering Information Technology and Communication Services. Apart from my aspirations, professional career and academic life, I am interested in hiking, swimming and teaching. I have completed a 5-day hike in the Stok-Kangri ranges of the Himalayas, situated at a height of ~16,500 feet metres). Further, I have also been associated as a Teaching Assistant with the Marquee Group, Canada\'s leading firm, which provides training and consultation on financial modelling. As a TA, I have helped numerous students to build financial models.
