The work assigned to me as an IP Consultant for IPQuad revolves around the following criteria:(a) To manage, protect and expand the clients’ (individual as well as organizations) Intellectual Property portfolio (covering the verticals of Patents, Trademarks, Designs and Copyrights) in India as well as select foreign jurisdictions;(b) Proactively identify and develop valuable intellectual property for the clients;(c) Counsel and guide the management, R&D personnel, team members of the technical operations and corporate development teams, on the intellectual property (IP) risks and opportunities;(d) Review and extension of assistance in drafting and negotiation of nondisclosure, research, license and other kinds of agreements involving the use, transfer, or ownership of intellectual property (IP).(e) To assess and advise the clients on IP risks and opportunities in complex transactions.(f) Promotion of intellectual property (IP) awareness (including current trends, practices, amendments to statutes and resultant implications) to clients.(g) Provision of due diligence support for regulatory & exclusivity analytics of IP;(h) Provision of support for various proceedings including and involving litigation, oppositions (both pre-grant and post-grant) both in India as well as select foreign jurisdictions; and(i) Liaison with in-house counsel and outside counsel to prepare, file and prosecute the applications for the protection of rights in the respective intellectual property (IP).
