Focus on identification and evaluation of internal technologies that can change the oncology landscape and benefit patients. Work closely with clinicians and researchers across the institution, across oncology indications, and across approaches (e.g, cell therapy, biologics, small molecule, RNA/DNA, vaccine, diagnostic) on patentability and commercial viability of their technology. Direct all aspects of patenting from filing applications through prosecution. For technologies ready for commercial partnering, define appropriate commercial strategy and potential partners (e.g, venture capital, biotech, pharma). Establish relationships with commercial partners and identify unique alignment with MDACC technologies/capabilities. Negotiate all aspects (e.g, financial, structure, intellectual property) of the commercial relationship, working closely with attorneys on the finalization of various types of agreements. Manage post-agreement relationship with the commercial partner.
