ABOUT PAOLO G.

I am currently working as machine learning engineer at OBI, in the e-commerce and supply chain branch.In the past, I worked as a PostDoc researcher at the University of Hamburg. I was a member of the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment, running at the Large Hadron Collider in Geneva. I obtained my PhD degree in November 2014, in a joined project between the University of Antwerp (Belgium) and the University of Hamburg (Germany).I spent a period of six months at the University of Antwerp from February to July 2014.Expert in analysis of large and complex data sets, wide statistical knowledge from simple (model fitting, parameter estimation) to more advanced (boosted decision trees, neural networks and deep learning) tools with broad experience in related software (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, Spark).Big skills as scientific software developer and tester in both low-level (C) and high-level (C++,Python) programming languages. Expertise in Monte Carlo methods and their software implementation.Data visualisation and result presentation. Exposure of scientific results in front of international and highly qualified audience.Author of numerous publications in top-level peer-reviewed journals, such as Physical Review D.Big experience in analysis of research papers and writing academic papers, notes, proceedings.
