Leadership in multi-disciplinary project design and knowledge management, evaluation, coordination, implementation, monitoring and partnership at country level and international setting. As Professor of Soil Science and Natural Resources I deal with teaching, MS and PhD students supervising, research, soil survey, digitised natural resources databases, dissemination, peer review publications, and editing. My achievements comprise: a thorough investigation and integrated analyses of land and water management issues in North Africa and the Middle East (MENA); estimation of climate change impacts on Mediterranean soil and water resources and their implications to desertification and food security; enhancement of participatory management including appropriate use of resources, increased agricultural production, and improved ecosystem services, especially in the MENA countries.
