As an educator, registered nurse and family nurse practitioner, I\'ve had the opportunity to be involved in nursing education, nursing leadership, and patient care. I recognized early in my career the power of technology and data and the role it plays in education and quality patient care delivery. Exploring new delivery methodologies, mediums, embracing online education and the practical application of informatics remain a passion and a calling. Various roles related to designing curriculum, online course development, and e-learning have led me to my current involvement in online education and the integration of entry-level informatics competencies into nursing education. As part of this process, I am part of a solution that offers the right foundation for all levels of healthcare professionals, so they have the fundamental skills, knowledge and practical application necessary to improve patient care, advance research, and make a difference in the lives of patients, communities, and healthcare environments.
