Globeleq is a leading independent power producer with a diversified technology portfolio. I solve complex legal and commercial problems that arise in development projects. I drive our projects to close through proactive and ambitious transaction management. My team closed the one and only project financed IPP in Africa in 2019. I am due to close another 2 projects in Q4 2023.Managed the legal workstream for the financial close for a 50MW geothermal project in Kenya, including managing the conditions precedent process to achieve financial close as timely as possible. Managed the legal workstream for the acquisition and subsequently the financial close for a 40MW solar project in Kenya. Co-ordinated with finance department to manage the transition from LIBOR to a risk free rate for the company\'s entire portfolio of projects including financial agreements and project agreements. Managed the legal workstream for the acquisition of a 65MW solar project in Egypt, including drafting amendment agreements for the Finance Documents and coordinating the registration process with MCDR.

Imagine the scene. I am 11 years old, I’ve flown from my home in London on a family holiday to a village in the Volta Region of Ghana. I woke up in the night and could not see anything around me at all …. it was pitch black! Up until that point I had never experienced real darkness before, it is perhaps no surprise then that my legal career has been dedicated to solving the problem of in Africa. Driven by complexity, I love that don’t necessarily have simple answers. I really enjoy using my in various African countries to inform my advice. In my career, I have worked on projects in, to name a few. Negotiated the Power Purchase Agreement, Concession Agreement and Government Guarantee on behalf of Ministry of Infrastructure in relation to a $320 million 80MW peat to power project in Rwanda. Closed transactions of over $450 million in various sectors including energy, transport infrastructure, ICT, agriculture and leisure while working as Legal Counsel and Transactions Advisor within the Unit at the Rwanda Development Board. Delivered bespoke training workshops for Rwanda Development Board and other ministries including Ministry of Infrastructure and Rwanda Energy Group. Supervised and trained trainee solicitors, managing their workload, reviewing work and providing input and giving constructive feedback at Globeleq.
