About Pamela Leonard
I joined Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE) as the Community Outreach Specialist working with the local governments that took a bold step in achieving major GHG reductions by forming and launching a new Community Choice Energy agency. After successfully enrolling nearly 97% of all electricity customers, I now serve as the Communications Manager for SVCE. I work with an incredibly talented team that provides clean, carbon-free power to a majority of Santa Clara County communities. Prior to SVCE, I served as the communications specialist for Prospect Silicon Valley, an urbantech innovation hub focused on smart transportation for mobility and cleantech solutions for the built environment. I helped promote ProspectSV programs, events and news to partners, clients and supporters. I served as an Account Executive with Westbound Communications bringing my experience to the Port of Long Beach team conducting community and digital outreach, special events and marketing for the $1.2 billion Gerald Desmond Bridge Replacement Project. I served as Director of Communications and Marketing for Orange County Coastkeeper, a clean water nonprofit organization, that promotes sustainable water resources and is a stakeholder in regional water supply issues. I interned for the Public and Government Affairs department at Mesa Water District and for Conservation Strategy Group, a Sacramento-based lobbying and consulting firm specializing in environmental and natural resources strategy and advocacy. I also interned for two state assembly district offices. I earned bachelor’s degrees in political science and drama, with a minor in global sustainability from the University of California, Irvine. I was a member of the Orange County chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (OCPRSA), and served as Diversity Committee Chair, a nationally recognized program for OCPRSA. Specialties: Communications, media relations, social media, community outreach and event planning.
