Brings experience as a longtime restorative justice circle keeper and facilitator in Evanston, a veteran investigative journalist and educator. Works closely with the Evanston Police Department developing and implementing innovative restorative programs bringing together law enforcement and court-involved youth, as well as facilitating restorative dialogues between law enforcement across lines of race, class, age, gender and rank. Collaborates with - and provides RJ training to - a wide range of youth-serving nonprofits, building a restorative justice collective. Leads community-building circle keeping; providestraining, support and coaching to entities interested in employing restorative practices within their work; and direct advocacy efforts to promote the adoption of restorative justice practices within public institutions, including the criminal justice system. Works with community-based organizations,schools, court officials, as well as parents and youth to introduce and support RJ practices. Offers informational sessions, public education and trainings for schools, parents, and community members on the philosophy,practice of restorative justice, and models of implementation. Manages fellows and volunteers in championing restorative justice initiatives. Serves on the Board of PeaceAble Cities: Evanston. Has facilitated circles and trainings throughout District 65 schools and facilitated victim-offender conferences,community circles and trainings throughout Evanston.
