Results-driven business development professional with over two decades of proven expertise in local government partnership and community economic development. I am passionate about creating sustainable pathways for growth, particularly for Minority- and Women-owned Business Enterprises (MWBEs), while building bridges between public and private sectors to drive meaningful change.My career has been defined by pioneering initiatives that address real community needs. I spearheaded the establishment of the WorkOne Center in Hampton and Portsmouth@Work Center in Portsmouth, creating critical workforce development infrastructure that continues to bridge skills gaps in high-growth industries. These centers represent more than programs—they\'re lifelines connecting underserved populations to economic opportunity.As the first African-American President of Virginia\'s largest child advocacy organization, I understand the power of representation and the responsibility that comes with leadership. This role reinforced my commitment to ensuring every voice is heard and every community has access to the resources needed for success.My expertise has been recognized at the highest levels of government. Former Governor Ralph Northam appointed me to both the African American History Education Commission and the COVID-19 Education Workgroup Taskforce, where I contributed to shaping educational standards and safeguarding student welfare during unprecedented times.I believe that economic empowerment is the foundation of thriving communities.
