As the Head of Access Services at the William and Anita Newman Library, I lead a dynamic team that provides exceptional customer-focused services. Reporting directly to the Vice President for Information Services and Dean of the Library, I oversee essential functions, including circulation, course reserves, stack maintenance, and resource sharing.In this role, I am responsible for:Team Leadership: Hiring, training, and coaching a dedicated staff of approximately 20 members, ensuring they deliver outstanding service with minimal wait times.Customer Engagement: Actively participating at service points to model high standards of user satisfaction.Policy Development: Creating and interpreting policies to enhance user experiences and efficiently resolve any issues.Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities to streamline operations through technology, driving continuous improvement in services and procedures.Collaboration: Serving as a library representative on various College and University committees, working closely with divisional heads to align with the library’s mission and strategic goals.Data-Driven Insights: Analyzing service usage to inform planning and ensure we meet our users’ evolving needs.
