ABOUT PAMELA Z.
My name is Pamela Zuchowski. I am currently a student at Walden’s University PMHNP-MSN program. Mental health and psychiatry have always been my passion, and I am excited to pursue my dreams of becoming a PMHNP. I’ve worked in a high-acuity inpatient psychiatric facility (pediatrics and adults), reassuring my passion and commitment to working in this specialty. This specialty is challenging and requires a lot of time, patience, and compassion during difficult situations, but it is worth providing care to our patients\' needs. In 2019, I decided to challenge myself by working in a high-acuity, high-volume emergency room to expand my knowledge, critical thinking, prioritization, assessment, and hands-on skills. Over the last 5 years, I’ve learned to manage various medical and psychiatric conditions. In 2021, I took on the leadership role of becoming an ER charge nurse specializing in psychiatric patients\' intake process. My experience in the ER has provided better insight and understanding of my patients and their chronic/acute medical and psychiatric illnesses. Also, I have recently taken on new roles as the nursing house supervisor and ECT RN PRN at my current hospital. I am always eager to expand my knowledge, skills, and experiences by taking on more challenging roles and responsibilities. I’m a very hands-on learner. I have the strong motivation and dedication to grow to become a successful healthcare provider through my preceptors. I aim to provide high-quality patient care and gain the proper tools, knowledge, and communication skills while addressing my patients’ mental health concerns. I want to develop realistic treatment plans, guidelines, and boundaries that patients can follow and succeed. Also, I want to expand my knowledge of medications and alternative behavioral therapy/treatments and provide the best resources to improve my patient’s quality of life. If you can become my preceptor or refer me to someone who could be my preceptor in the Tampa Bay Area. I would greatly appreciate your assistance and guidance. I am also willing to travel a few hours away, between Ocala, Naples, or the Orlando area, to complete my hours. All recommendations of sites/ preceptors are always appreciated. Thank you in advance.
