Lead Field Artillery C2 Army Human Factors Engineering/Human Systems Integration (HFE/HSI) for CPE C2IN, PM Mission Command, PdM Fire Support Command and Control software modernization programs by involving Soldiers and Marines in the design process as we work to modernize field artillery software capabilities. Primary acquisition program focus is on the Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS), Artillery Execution Suite (AXS), Precision Fires Dismounted (PF-D) and Mounted (PF-M), Joint Automated Deep Coordination System (JADOCS), Joint Targeting Integrated Command and Coordination Suite (JTIC2S) and more. Conduct front-end user needs research and analysis to inform system and user interface design as well as design trade-offs. Work closely with Army and US Marine Corps PM staff, ACM FC-T, CDID, DOT-D, DOT & E, OTC, and ATEC. Conduct end-user research early, often, and iteratively with Active Duty, Reserve, and National Guard Warfighters. Warfighter-centered design is critical for ensuring systems meet users\' mission needs while reducing the training burden. Users should spend training time learning how to effectively employ systems in operational environments; not on buttonology and poorly designed workflows. Stakeholders are included as active participants in user engagements (Soldier Touch Points) and are mentored in data collection and research techniques. Cognitive engineering and HFE/HSI principles are applied during design and evaluation activities. Activities are conducted throughout the system acquisition process with a focus on supporting optimal human performance and human-system interaction during mission execution.
