ABOUT PAM MATTEN

I am a senior oncology nurse educator experienced in both hematology and medical oncology products. I am an oncology certified nurse (OCN) with over 20 years experience in oncology. As a clinical nurse I have had experience in radiation therapy, infusion therapy and thoracic oncology nurse navigation. I have had the opportunity to publish in the Oncology Nursing Forum my research on smoking cessation education for hospital nursing staff and have published several abstracts. I developed the first CT Lung Screening Program in a CA community hospital (2004) that has been modeled in several hospitals. Podium presentations on this topic have been presented at ONS. I developed a smoking cessation clinic modeled after the Mayo Clinic\'s motivational and behavior therapy techniques and am certified in smoking cessation through Mayo Clinic. My passion for teaching and education led me to work as an oncology nurse educator. This role has afforded me the opportunity to work on the drug development side of oncology; bringing hope to patients through new medication options. Aligning customers needs with educational resources, nursing in-service presentations and product knowledge has proven very rewarding. Industry is an exciting and dynamic place to be as more targeted and immunotherapy options become available for patients. I previously was responsible for a balanced portfolio of both hematology and medical oncology products;5 products/9 indications, supporting 12 representatives and three regional sales managers. I am currently employed as an oncology nurse educator at AstraZeneca supporting the lung cancer and hematology franchise. I support Tagrisso, Imfinzi and Calquence. I provide non-branded education to nurses regarding lung cancer disease state, molecular testing, immune-related adverse event management with checkpoint inhibitors, oral adherence, TKI adverse event management, survivorship, nursing best practice, precision medicine, cardio-oncology and hematology. I am experienced in virtual education as well as clinic in-services and dinner presentations. I have been responsible for developing many non-branded marketing materials and educational presentations. I have worked as a Regional Training Specialist and mentored new nurses as they become nurse educators.
