ABOUT PAMELA HERNANDEZ

Pamela Hernandez holds a Master of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and is a 2023 Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Graduate Fellow. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers University–New Brunswick, where she double-majored in Political Science and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, and minored in International and Global Studies. At Georgetown, she concentrated in Global Politics and Security (GPS), with a focus on Global Institutions and Transnational Challenges. She also earned certificates in Global Human Development (GHD) and Refugees, Migration, and Humanitarian Emergencies. Her work focuses on environmental governance, gender equity, and human mobility in Latin America and the Caribbean, with policy research spanning U.S.–Mexico water diplomacy, sustainable land use in the Brazilian Amazon, and climate displacement in Colombia’s coastal communities. She brings a strong interest in the arts, using storytelling to advance social change and amplify underrepresented voices. She is fluent in Spanish and proficient in French and Portuguese, having completed advanced coursework in both languages.
