ABOUT PALLAV SARKAR

I am a PhD Researcher in Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR) at Central Institute of Mining and Fuel Research (CIMFR Dhanbad) where I work on a government-sponsored project to reconstruct a distressed berth No.6 at Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata. The project involves designing, constructing, estimating, and quality controlling a 192m long and 20m wide berth, using 771.325 tons of pile and vibro compaction hammer. I apply my core technical knowledge and skills in geotechnical engineering, sheet pile, anchor rod, diaphragm wall, and other related concepts, to ensure the successful completion of the project. I hold a Master of Technology degree in Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, where I also reviewed an industrial geotechnical report and developed an excel-based program to assess soil bearing capacity from SPT value. Before that, I completed my Bachelor of Technology degree in Civil Engineering from KiiT University, Bhubaneswar, and my Diploma in Civil Engineering from Nibedita Polytechnic, Murshidabad. I have also participated in several skill development training programs and workshops on topics such as PCC and RCC, steel corrosion, cement and concrete chemistry, NDT, nano cement, and alternative building materials. I am hardworking, interested in learning, and passionate about civil engineering. I have excellent presentation, project coordination, and engineering drawing skills. I can speak Hindi, English, and Bengali fluently. I am looking for opportunities to apply my expertise and experience in geotechnical engineering to challenging and meaningful projects that contribute to the development and improvement of the infrastructure and environment.
