WORK HISTORY
Nasa Space Technologist Graduate Research Opportunities Fellow @NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration
Fellowship funding my Ph.D. at MIT, working on materials for extreme space environments such as for space radiation shielding, thermal protection systems, and lunar dust mitigation materials. During the duration of my fellowship, I have worked at the following NASA/government lab locations:NASA Langley Research Center (14 weeks)- Thermal neutron radiation testing at the Neutron Radiation Exposure Lab for testing the radiation shielding capabilities of my novel nanocomposites compared to the SOTA high-density polyethylene- Plume surface interaction test for testing the resistance of my novel materials to lunar regolith plumes during lunar landingsNASA Johnson Space Center (2 weeks)- Evaluate spacesuit materials with the Advanced Suit Group for radiation shielding- Evaluate habitat materials with the Softgoods Team in the Structural Group for radiation shielding- Work with the Space Radiation Analysis Group Air Force Research Laboratory (2 weeks - upcoming)- Oxyacetylene Torch Test for re-entry simulation of ablative materials for thermal protection systemsNASA Kennedy Space Center (1 week)- 3D printing of lunar regolith radiation shields for habitats to be used for radiation testingNASA mentor: Dr. Valerie Wiesner
