About Paige Lavender

As News Director at HuffPost, I manage the site\'s breaking news and video teams. I work with editorial leadership and other teams to develop our news capabilities, and coordinate with product to enhance and improve tools used for news coverage.Previously, I worked as Managing Editor of Breaking News, leading a global team of reporters covering fast-moving stories, reporting on everything from terror attacks to elections. I also contributed to HuffPost Politics\' coverage, where I monitored audience engagement; ran various social media channels; wrote headlines; edited photos and video; outfitted stories with multimedia elements; and more.I have a bachelor\'s degree in News-Editorial Journalism from West Virginia University and a master\'s degree in Interactive Journalism from American University. I\'m a member of the October 2019 cohort of the Poynter Institute\'s Leadership Academy of Women In Digital Media. I\'m also a former member of the WVU Reed College of Media\'s visiting committee.
