ABOUT PAIGE FEIKERT

I am currently an R&T engineer at Spirit AeroSystems in Wichita, Kan. I am also pursuing a PhD degree from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Wichita State University. I study polymer nano composites in the Soft Matter lab at Wichita State University. I earned my masters degree in mechanical engineering with a concentration in material science in December 2020 from Wichita State University, where I completed my thesis investigating networking abilities of proteins in low Tg thermoplastic blends using rheological and dielectric analyses.Prior to pursuing my masters degree, I spent several years in the journalism industry. I worked my way up from a part-time associate producer to a full time producer on the 5:00 pm news at the CBS affiliate in Wichita, Kansas. There I learned not only how to improve my written and verbal communication, but also how to work under pressure and manage stress.During my time as an undergraduate student at Wichita State University, I studied bioengineering with a minor in journalism. I was able to study biosensors and the detection of biomarkers, gaining experience presenting and publishing my research at an early stage in my education.
