About Paige Powers

I am currently a highly effective middle school math teacher with DCPS. During the summer, I work as a Eureka Math Squared PD facilitator for Great Minds and I also work closely with the the DCPS elementary and secondary math teams to strengthen our math programming and curriculum. Special projects include creating micro-credential math and assessment courses for teachers, developing scope and sequences for district-wide RCTs, and creating professional development sessions to help teachers prepare for the year in their math classes! I also occasionally teach at American University as an adjunct professor, in their Graduate School of Education. I enjoy collaborating and guiding new teachers about math education!In addition to teaching, I also hold two Master\'s degrees from Lesley University- one in Elementary Education and the other in Special Education.I am passionate about developing rigor in the classroom, community service, and personal finance education.

   Highly effective math educator with experience teaching 6th, 7th, and 7th grade accelerated math using both Illustrative Mathematics and Eureka Math curriculums. At my school, we embed Project Based Learning (PBL) into our classes so that students have experience with critical math thinking through a culturally relevant lens.
